Aston Martin Clutch Rebuild Guide | PEGA

GTE Engineering provides PEGA Clutch rebuilding for applicable Aston Martin clutch assemblies. The catalog includes selected DB7, DB9, DBS, Vantage, Zagato and One-77 applications. Confirm the fitted transmission and clutch reference before choosing a rebuild.

Identify manual, Sportshift or another transmission

A marque or model badge does not identify the clutch configuration. Manual and ASM/Sportshift-equipped cars require review of the installed assembly and release mechanism. Do not assume that a similarly named automatic model shares the same rebuildable dry clutch.

Clutch and ASM hydraulics are separate services

A slipping or damaged friction clutch requires a different assessment from an ASM pressure-supply or actuator fault. The clutch, flywheel, release bearing/slave cylinder, position feedback and hydraulic controls can each require work. The dedicated ASM guide explains the distinction and quote information.

Reference and geometry matter

Send clear photographs of the cover, disc arrangement and identification labels. Note previous twin-disc conversions or nonstandard flywheels. A replacement reference or supersession must be confirmed against the complete installed setup.

Choose the lining stage and repair scope

Use the PEGA stage guide to compare organic, Kevlar® and ceramic configurations. The shop listing shows the options offered for the exact clutch. The estimate defines inspection, lining work, reconditioning and included components. Flywheel service, additional balancing, damaged hard parts and release-system repairs are separate unless specified.

Information to provide

  • VIN, model, year and transmission type.
  • Clutch and flywheel references with photographs.
  • Faults, wear symptoms and prior repairs or conversions.
  • Engine modifications, torque demand and road/track use.

Installation and commissioning

The installer must verify fitment and release-system condition, then follow the correct vehicle-specific setup and bedding-in instructions. Where electronic clutch control is fitted, applicable bleeding, learning and calibration remain essential. A removed-clutch rebuild does not diagnose the complete vehicle.

Common questions

Does every rebuild include a flywheel or release bearing?

Only when the listing or approved estimate expressly includes those items.

Will a higher stage increase horsepower?

No. The clutch transfers power; capacity and feel depend on the complete assembly and application.

Can I order from the model name alone?

Confirm the installed part number and configuration first, especially after previous modifications.
