Stage 1 is teardown and inspection
GTE Engineering's Stage 1 service for the Getrag 7DCL750 covers teardown and inspection. It is the assessment stage, not a complete rebuild including all replacement parts. The findings establish the additional work needed for the submitted transmission.
Parts and electronics are additional
Additional requirements may include speed sensors, clutch speed sensors, electrovalves, gears, seals, pumps, pressure sensors and gaskets. Refurbishment of the SAP and CCP hydraulic units is also additional. The applicable quotation should identify the work and parts required; not every transmission needs the same repair.
Provide diagnostic information
Include the transmission identification, fault codes and a clear description of the symptoms. Record when the fault occurs and any recent repairs. A code or symptom alone does not prove that a particular internal part is defective.
Before shipping
Confirm the required components, paperwork and transport arrangements before dispatch. Follow the shipping instructions for preparation and secure packaging. A shipment tracking update reports transport progress, not completion of a transmission rebuild.
After inspection
Review the findings and proposed scope before additional work proceeds. Installation, fluid specification and any required setup remain application-specific.
